I have used each and every one of these resources for my own classes and I definitely recommend exploring them as they offer a wealth of information and materials.

TEACHING MATERIAL AND ADVICE
Orthodox Catechism Project. Created by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver, this extensive website offers materials that complement the official Church curricula.
Dr. Pat’s Orthodox Super Sunday School Curriculum. This is a free private website, created by Dr. Pat (no other information is provided except that it is a medical doctor with a love of Orthodoxy and children), offering material and advice collected over two decades of Church School teaching and direction in two Orthodox parishes in Maryland. It is an extremely helpful resource with material for all ages and very helpful tips on organizing and running a parish catechesis program.
Orthodox Education. A truly excellent Orthodox teaching blog offering material and activities for all ages.
Illumination Learning. Another excellent resource offering a ton of information, activities, encouragement, and ideas for Orthodox catechism.
Ascetic Life of Motherhood: Practical Resources for Living the Orthodox Faith. Khouria Destinie is a prolific blogger, a wonderful photographer, a trained educator turned homeschooling mom, and a fantastic inspiration for mothers and catechists, whose mission is to help families bring the life of the Church into their homes. I can’t recommend this inspiring and comprehensive resource enough.
Orthodox Mom. This is one of the oldest Orthodox blogs on the internet, created by Sylvia Leontaritis, a homeschooling mom of three providing various Orthodox resources for educators and families.
Flame Creative Children’s Ministry. This is a British blog on catechism for young children. It needs to be approached with great caution, as it introduces many non-Orthodox doctrine elements. However, the activities and creativity are fantastic. I have been using them as inspiration for my own classes for years. The prayer stations and prayer bag idea in the workshop presentation have originally come from this resource.
Danielle’s Place. One of the most famous Christian education platforms for kids. This is a non-Orthodox website, so it should be approached with caution. Still, it is full of diverse, interesting, and engaging activities.
The Meek Sparrow dowloadable coloring sheets. I really don’t know if I have seen better-drawn Orthodox coloring pages than these ones.
Draw Near Designs. Two Orthodox moms create education resources for children and also operate an online store with all kinds of helpful teaching materials.
ACTIVITY CREATION TOOLS – DIGITAL GAME PLATFORMS
The Teacher’s Corner. An excellent digital platform for creating your own worksheets: word searches, crossword puzzles and many more.
Wordwall. One of the most popular platforms for creating digital and printable activities.
Kahoot. This is a tool for making online quizzes and games that are very popular with older children and teens.
Puzzel.org. Another very helpful platform for various digital activities.
ORTHODOX ARTS
A Reader’s Guide to Orthodox Icons. I have no idea who created and maintains this website as s/he provides no information about it, but the material offered has been double-checked over and over, it is accurate, and extremely helpful. I have been using it from my early years of being a Sunday School teacher.
Orthodox Arts Journal. It covers visual arts, music, liturgical ceremony and texts, as well as art history and theory. In addition to a wealth of information, it has an extensive collection of digitized Orthodox images that are free to use when creating one’s own teaching resources.
Trisagion School of Byzantine Music. This online chanting learning platform is really very helpful. They offer classes for all levels in a doable and approachable method.
ORTHODOX MUSIC FOR KIDS
Rocko’s Music Factory – Ancient Faith Kids videos. This entertaining series of songs performed by puppets created by Stephen and Andrew Ritchie, is a fun addition to lessons for young children.
Since God loves you and you know it…Sing out loud! A book of Orthodox-themed songs based on well-known children’s melodies by Orthodox mom Christina Romas Connant.
Orthodox Kids’ Songs by Kh. Gigi Shadid. Khouria Gigi Baba Shadid is a mother of three and an award-winning educator who is passionate about teaching with music.
