There are many ways to teach young children about Pascha. A succesful one for us has been to use four Pascha-related icons in sequence. Find everything you need to try it at our new lavishly illustrated resource page, which features printables, creative activities, game ideas, background information and more.

The Raising of Lazarus was the very first resource page we published at Orthodox Pebbles, in the beginning of the academic year. Kindly visit for background information, storytelling resources, printable activities, crafts, recipes and more.

Right now, we have about 1,300 followers on different social media platforms combined, and some of our Facebook posts have reached over 12,500 Facebook users. We didn’t know what to expect when we started this project, and we are so grateful and encouraged by the warm welcome we have received. Sincere thanks to everyone, and our warmest wishes for a blessed Holy Week.

On the fifth Sunday of Great Lent, the Church celebrates St. Mary of Egypt, who holds a special place among the Saints: she is the model of repentance (μετάνοια, a change of mindset) – the central point of Great Lent. 

We were very inspired by a wonderful Lenten resource, Tending the Garden of our Hearts, a series of daily Lenten meditations for children and their families, from Elissa Bjeletich and Kristina Wenger. Their post on Week 6 of Great Lent deals with the themes of repentance and temptation, and we are sincerely thankful to Elissa and Kristina for allowing us to put together some printables to help with their activities targeting the younger children.

We created a page of special printables to coordinate with the Veneration of the Cross theme of a wonderful resource for Lent, Tending the Garden of our Hearts. We hope they will offer some inspiration and encouragement right in the middle of our fasting effort. Heartfelt thanks to Kristina and Elissa for offering us this opportunity.
